This is a very shiny gloss. The color is opaque which I prefer. It is a little more brown than in the promotional pictures imo and while I love a brown gloss this one kind of feels off to me. Like I got into some chocolate and made a mess on my face. I deducted a star because the color was not what I expected. I got impatient after about 10 minutes and wanted to see the stain so I wiped it off. The stain is very subtle, close to my skin tone but has a bit of a natural darkening no lipstick effect. This feels like a gloss with some staying power, I imagine it would be long lasting if I didn’t eat or drink anything. The texture is a little on the sticky side, but still slick and not uncomfortable.
I normally don’t love lip products. I have small lips and I am never really satisfied! But this stuff is sooooo good! You don’t even understand how moisturizing and glossy this is. It’s not sticky, very pigmented and the stain it leaves behind is gorgeous! I got the Rosie one and its chefs kiss perfect! I’m totally getting more! Most lip stains tend to be quite drying. When they’re not, the price to be paid is little to know color payoff. Both can be frustrating.
Somehow, NYX managed to crack the code! They’ve developed this serum based stain, which manages to combine deep hydration, and lasting color in one formula.
Texture wise, it’s not too thick, nor too thin. It’s just comfortable, with no feathering or bleeding either (see photo). Let me also put reader’s minds to rest buying assuring you that it’s also not sticky in the slightest! Again, it’s just super comfortable to wear, so much that you can actually feel your lips drinking in the hydration.
As someone who lives with chronically and painfully dry lips, I cannot tell you what a gift this product is. I love the colors, and looking forward to additional ones down the road.
One of the best new beauty products of 2024 NYX PROFESSIONAL MAKEUP Lip, Very pretty gloss/stain. It does not move outside my lip line and that’s a huge thing for me. At 56 there is no lipstick that I can still wear so I’m always trying these liquid stains. I had found 2 that worked and this makes three! It does lose the gloss in a couple hours but still holds a light stain that stays even with a gloss on top. Will try another color but they do have limited selection. I like this better than the Mabelline Teddy wear. I like that it has more of a moisture to it but lasts maybe 4 hours PROFESSIONAL
